Our Vision and Mission
At Nehemiah Project, we believe in being proactive rather than reactive. In other words, we focus on prevention. Our main focus is on helping the young generation. They are the ones breaking the negative generational cycle of alcoholism, drug abuse, violence and poverty.
We walk with children and youth on their journey, encouraging them to dream and plan for their future. We support them to improve their chances of achieving those dreams. Our top priority is their eternal well-being, following the teachings of Matthew 28, to love God and our neighbors.
Inspired and driven by the picture of restoration and rebuilding of the destroyed city of Jerusalem in the book of Nehemiah, our heartbeat is to reach out to the people of Roodewal (Worcester, South Africa) to share Gods love, to restore hope and rebuild lives. As it is said in Nemehiah 1:3 “The remnants there in the province who survived the acprivity are in great distress and reproach; the wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its (fortified) gates have been burned (destroyed) by fire”.
Our goal is to help shape their character in a way that aligns with good values, empowering them to make wise, love-centered choices in every area of life. Moreover, we place a strong emphasis on their education, recognizing its importance for future job opportunities.
We also teach them about personal hygiene, sports, and how to lead a healthy lifestyle. We educate them about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse and provide guidance on responsible sexual behavior to prevent teenage pregnancies and HIV.
Furthermore, within our families, we demonstrate the biblical principles of marriage and loving households, living out the values we teach.
Are you ready to join us in making a positive impact on the lives of these incredible young individuals?
Our Vision is to make an impact on the children of Roodewal. This heartbeat for the community is expressed through different programs within Roodewal. We run the Nehemiah Boys Club, which is an after school program for boys aged from 7 to 18 years old. And we run the Nehemiah Girls club, which is an after school program for girls aged from 7 to 18 years old.
